The ceremony was presided over by the vice chairman of Shanghai CPPCC and Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo Executive Committee of Shanghai.

Australian violinist Nicky, W, sirages, Australian Air Children Choir, Australian singer Dan Thornton and pop singer Jessica Maer Bai performed well at the ceremony.

Quentin Bryce said that Shanghai World Expo gathered exhibitors from around the world to jointly display their creativity and promote cooperation and progress. Australia is proud to display in Shanghai World Expo.

Australia attaches great importance to bilateral relations with China. Bilateral cooperation has been fruitful. This is reflected in the close investment and business contacts between the two countries, the good relations between sister cities and friendly contacts between the peoples.

Australia is a young country, but with an ancient land and aboriginal culture, the Australian Pavilion is so excited that it has received more than 1 million 500 thousand visitors so far. The exhibitors are welcome to come to Australia Pavilion to learn a lot about Australia.

Han Zheng said Australia has impressed many visitors with unique creativity in World Expo history.

The Australian Pavilion in World Expo, Shanghai, has a unique style. Through the colorful iron red exterior walls, dynamic undulating projection screens, and ancient and beautiful traditional cultural performances, people can fully feel the beautiful scenery of Australia, the dynamic modern city and the diversified cultural landscape, and let people share Australia's intelligent plan to solve the urban problems and improve the quality of life.

Although China and Australia are separated by oceans, the exchanges between the two peoples have a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia in 1972, relations between the two countries have maintained a good momentum of development. I believe that World Expo, Shanghai will become a platform for enhancing understanding and friendship between the two peoples and will provide new opportunities for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Australia.
