Made In China

In Africa, there is a joke: an African mother asks the child, "where does God live?" the child replied, "since God created everything, he must live in China.

Because everything is made in China.

In Africa, no "made in China" days can not be imagined.

Flashlights, shoes and socks, cloth, food, mobile phones, motorcycles, televisions, construction machinery, Africans' necessities and lives have long been inseparable from "made in China".

Data show that central Africa in 2009

Volume of trade

For 91 billion 66 million US dollars, we have maintained a steady momentum of development.

In many African countries, the development of light industry is slow, most of the daily necessities can not be manufactured by themselves, and can only rely on imports, so the price is very expensive.

For example, in Africa, the price of plastic fake flowers is several times or even tens of times of true flowers. The price of a small enamel cup is 15 kilograms of potatoes in Africa.

Compared with products imported from South Africa and Europe, Chinese products have great advantages in terms of price.

Take Kenya, the second largest economy in East Africa, for example. The shirts of the same quality, Kenya's local 4000 shillings (about 400 yuan), the price of Chinese products is about half or even less.

Generally speaking, the price of products in the African market is 3 times to 4 times the price of Chinese products.

The prices of cloth, household appliances, medicine, plastic and enamel ware are 5 to 8 times the price of similar products in China.

"If we don't have Chinese products, we don't know when we can use mobile phones."

Hellelu Chitiye, a senior editor of Ethiopia radio and TV group, raised the world wide mobile phone made in China. "Buying Chinese products will save us a lot of money," he said.

In recent years, there are more and more "made in China" in the lives of Africans.

brand

It has increasingly become a well-known brand in Africa, such as Changan motor, Hisense TV, Jialing Motorcycle, Haier refrigerator and so on.

These cost-effective Chinese brand products are popular among the African continent, especially the low-end consumers.

As a large number of goods with "made in China" entered Africa, a once forgotten continent, Africans have more knowledge of Chinese products and Chinese people.

Many Africans, especially ordinary people, have changed their impression of China from 10 years ago to the "best quality product".

However, due to the pursuit of emperors in the past, some Chinese products exported to Africa have neglected the quality they should have. "Made in China" has become synonymous with cheap and inferior commodities in some areas.

The quality problems of Chinese products in Africa are mainly found in stationery, textiles, batteries, cosmetics, and small household electrical appliances. These items are closely related to people's lives. Once problems arise, they will easily cause dissatisfaction among the local people.

From Kenya in East Africa to Nigeria in West Africa, from Egypt in North Africa to Zimbabwe in South Africa, Africans reflect that the quality problems of Chinese commodities are mainly due to poor material quality, short life span and counterfeiting international brands.

Some Africans refer to some Chinese shoes and skirts as "weekly shoes" and "March skirts".

The power wiring board is not energized, instant noodle seasoning is only a small packet of salt and faucet can leak soon.

Such problems often make "made in China" humiliated.

Janis Asand, editor of a newspaper editor at the biggest N Akum att supermarket in Kenya, said: "although it is cheap, the quality of Chinese goods is not as good as that of Europe, and some Chinese products do not understand me, and the English is poor, so I try not to buy Chinese goods."

I understand that the poor quality of "made in China" in some African markets is mainly due to the fact that some Chinese enterprises and Chinese peddlers are holding the mentality of "poor Africans, only using defective products". They also believe that Africa is lagging behind, the national legal system is not sound, and there are loopholes to be drilled.

Some African businessmen are also now learning to bargains from China to sell in Africa, making poor quality goods flow to Africa.

Africa has a population of 860 million.

Consumer market

The field is huge.

In recent years, the growth rate of Africa's economy has reached 5%. Because of oil, Africa's economy and consumption level are growing rapidly.

However, there is a proverb in Africa: deaf people do not sell crutches.

It means that no one will buy the goods that they do not need.

In addition to maintaining the price advantage and constantly improving the quality, "made in China" should also conduct market research before entering the African market, comply with the African market rules, and not be able to imagine without imagination.

For example, some people suspect that Kenya, which is located in East Africa, is sure to be hot, so shorts must be sold.

As a matter of fact, Kenya is located on the plateau, and it is like spring all the year round.

For example, I brought back some small gifts from China for African friends to pick.

As a result, the Peking Opera mask with the most Chinese characteristics has no choice.

Later, the locals explained that because many African countries believed in primitive religion, Facebook and masks were only used in religious ceremonies. Africans believed that they had the power of God, so they did not dare to use them freely.

There is also a very practical case: the suitcases sold in Africa are often smaller and more popular because African countries have smaller airplanes and luggage shelves can't fit in large suitcases.

In addition, many Chinese appliances are easy to burn in Africa, not all quality problems, but also because African countries generally have unstable voltage, frequent power failures, and electrical appliances are easily damaged, so special treatment is needed.

Improve your quality and understand the African market.

Only when we know what we are, can we make China known for Africa and benefit Africa and Africa.
