Nano Technology Nanomaterials Nanoparticles

The market for the use of nanotechnology in textile and garment industries is growing, but surprisingly, there is no widely accepted definition that can be applied to the relevant laws and regulations on the safe use of nanotechnology.

For future European Union

Nanometer material

To prepare for the specification, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission suggested that the size be the only definition standard, and the particle size would vary from 1nm (nanometer, 1 billion to 1 m) to 100nm.

The joint research center also suggests specific attributes and characteristics (such as caking status, biological persistence, or intentional manufacture) or may be related. In addition, a general definition may be required for specific execution needs.

In a reference report entitled "consideration for the purpose of specification for nanomaterials", the joint research center recommended that the term "particulate nanomaterial, particulate and nano materials" should be used in the standard text.

Nanoparticle

In clothing, there are a series of applications, from anti pollution treatment to the use of nanoparticles to reduce the production of bacteria and odors.

But there are still some scientists embracing.

Nanotechnology

Feel uneasy.

Concerns include whether nanofibers will invade human cells, and whether nanometers will fall off when they are in use or during washing.

In addition, it is also concerned that the nanoparticles washed away during washing will affect the sewage treatment plants.
