Compared with traditional land fibers and synthetic fibers, alginate fibers can save land and purify the environment. The production process is completely low carbon green, and has the advantages of degradation, regeneration, and pollution-free.

The industrialization of alginate fiber will enable Shandong to build seaweed fiber as the main body. The seaweed processing industry and the textile processing industry with seaweed fiber materials as the two wings will form a new industrial chain starting from the sea and form a new economic growth point.

Li Naisheng, deputy director of the Shandong provincial science and technology department and director of the Qingdao State Oceanographic Research Center, told reporters that the successful breakthrough of seaweed fiber technology is an example of marine science and technology reserves in our province.
