China Has Become The First Target Country For Trade Protection.

On a 9 day seminar held in Xiamen on the theme of "effective coping with trade frictions", Chinese commerce ministry officials said that China has become the biggest victim and primary target country of international trade protectionism.

A seminar on "effective coping with trade friction and promoting the scientific development of industry" was held in Xiamen. More than 100 politicians, business circles and academics participated in the seminar.


It is understood that in the past ten years since China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), China has suffered 602 foreign trade relief investigations, totaling 38 billion 980 million US dollars.

Among them, 510 anti-dumping investigations, 43 countervailing investigations, 106 safeguard measures and 33 special safeguard measures.


Song Heping, an investigative Commissioner of the Fair Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and trade of China, said that as of 2010, China has become the world's largest number of anti-dumping investigations for 16 consecutive years, becoming the world's largest number of countervailing countries for 5 years in a row.


He said that in recent years, Chinese enterprises have been encountering trade friction in the process of going out.

In 2010, China encountered 66 trade relief investigations, involving 7 billion 100 million US dollars, the most recent ten years.

They should mobilize all kinds of resources to maintain linkage with the business associations, local business departments and the Ministry of Commerce, and comprehensively respond to them.
