Columbo Day Parade Held In New York

In October 10th, New York held the sixty-seventh session.

The parade commemorating the first discovery of the American continent by Italy navigator Christopher Columbus in the expedition of 1492 is an activity of Italy American residents displaying traditional customs.

The junction between Fifth Avenue and 44 street begins, and ends at five Avenue and 74 street. It begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

Tens of thousands of participants, the audience covered the streets of New York.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other high-ranking officials attended the parade. They walked at the front of the procession and shook hands with the tourists and spectators. The demonstrators waved the national flag of Italy and the United States and shouted slogans like "long live Italy".
