1, what is cotton?

Cotton, a herbaceous plant with fruit like peach and white inside.

The characteristics of cotton fabrics are:

1. hygroscopicity, shrinkage rate is larger, about 4~10%.

2. alkali resistant and acid proof.

Cotton cloth is very unstable to inorganic acids. Even dilute sulfuric acid can destroy them, but organic acids are weak and hardly destructive.

Cotton cloth is more alkali resistant than ordinary alkali, but it has no effect on cotton cloth at room temperature, but the strength of cotton cloth will decrease after strong alkali treatment.

20% of the caustic soda is often used to treat cotton cloth.

3. light resistance and heat resistance.

Cotton and cotton will slowly oxidize in the sunlight and atmosphere, so that the strength will drop.

Long term high temperature will cause the cotton cloth to be damaged, but it can withstand high temperature at 125~150 C.

4. microorganisms have a destructive effect on cotton fabrics.

It is resistant to mold.

Varieties of cotton fabrics

1. pure cotton fabric

Pure cotton fabric is made of pure cotton yarn, with a wide variety of fabrics and different colors.

Pure cotton fabric has good breathability, hygroscopicity and comfortable clothing, but has a prominent drawback. It is easy to wrinkle and deform after washing and wearing.

It can be dyed into dyed cotton, dyed cotton, printed cotton and yarn dyed cotton fabric. It can also be divided into plain cloth, twill and forged cloth according to the fabric structure.

2. cotton blended.

The fabric made of cotton and other fibers blended and interwoven is collectively referred to as cotton blended and interwoven fabric.

This includes the combination of cotton and other natural fibers, and also the combination of cotton and various chemical fibers. Usually cotton is combined with chemical fibers to form a variety of fabrics with different colors and practical fabrics.

1. Viscose and rich fiber and cotton blended textiles generally use 33% cotton fiber, 67% viscose fiber or rich fiber.

This kind of fabric has the characteristics of abrasion resistance, strength higher than viscose fabric, hygroscopicity better than pure cotton cloth, less wet strength, soft and smooth handle.

The main varieties are sticky cotton, rich fiber and cotton fabrics.

2. Polyester cotton fabric is usually blended with 35% cotton and 65% polyester.

This fabric is mainly made of high count plain weave weaves, used for light shirts, fine plain cloth, poplin and so on.

Polyester cotton cloth is commonly known as "Dacron". It maintains the characteristics of high strength and resilience of polyester fiber, and has the characteristics of strong hygroscopicity of cotton fiber. It is easy to dye, wash, and iron quickly.

Polyester cotton cloth has many varieties and specifications, such as primary color cloth, colored cloth, printed cloth and yarn dyed fabric.

3. Fabric of vinylon and cotton blended with cotton fabric.

This fabric has good hygroscopicity and permeability, and it is suitable for making underwear, underwear, pajamas and so on because of the corrosion resistance of vinylon.

The disadvantage of the cotton cloth is that the dyeing is not bright enough and the elasticity is poor.

Its main varieties are cotton fabrics, plain cotton, plain cotton and fine cotton fabric.

Polypropylene fabric is a plain weave fabric woven from polypropylene staple fiber and cotton in proportion to 1:1 ratio. It is usually made of polypropylene cotton cloth and acrylic cotton yarn.

A. polypropylene cotton cloth: plain cotton fabric blended with 50% cotton and 50% polypropylene fabric has a smooth appearance, small shrinkage, durable wear resistance, easy washing and quick drying, and a polyester cotton fabric style.

However, it has poor moisture absorption, heat resistance and light resistance, and is suitable for making garments.

B. acrylic cotton yarn: 50% cotton and 50% polypropylene or 65% polypropylene and 35% cotton blended rarefied fabric, the appearance is the same pure cotton and hemp yarn fabric, but hygroscopicity, light resistance and heat resistance are not as good as cotton and ramie yarn.

It is suitable for summer shirts or military raincoats and mosquito nets.

2, why is high density of cotton yarn expensive?

The density of yarn refers to the density of yarn as an important index of unit density.

The finer the yarn, the higher the count, the more smooth the cloth.

The higher the density, the more delicate, smoother and better the fabric surface, and the higher the demand for textile technology, so the cost will be more expensive.

The yarn thickness is divided into 40 x 40, 60 x 40, 60 x 60, 80 * 80.

Yarn count:

The number of branches is usually expressed by "branch" or the English letter "S".

We often see 30, 40, 60 and so on. What exactly is the count? The number of yarns is the yarns of yarns.

Metric count N=L/G, G is the weight of yarn (or silk), and L is the length (meter) of yarn (or silk).

Popularly speaking, it is the length of rice per gram of heavy yarn.

For example: one or two cotton can make 30 long 1 meters of yarn, that is 30; and one or two cotton made 40 long 1 meters of yarn, that is 40; 1 two cotton make 60 root long and 60 meters of yarn, that is, the branch.

In fact, the higher the number of yarns, the smaller the yarn. The thinner the cloth is, the softer and more comfortable the cloth is.

However, the cloth with a high number of materials requires high quality of raw materials (cotton), and also requires a high level of cotton mill and weaving weaving plant, so the cost of cloth is relatively high.

But too thin cloth can be used for making clothes. It is not suitable for making bedclothes.
