Survey Of China'S Textile And Apparel Exports To EU In 2012 1-5

According to Chinese customs statistics, in May, China's textile and apparel exports to the United States amounted to 3 billion 400 million US dollars, an increase of 9.7% over the same period, of which 1 billion 20 million US dollars in textile exports, an increase of 19% over the previous year, and 2 billion 380 million US dollars in clothing exports, an increase of 6.2% over the same period last year.

In 1-5 months, China exported $13 billion 630 million to us textile and apparel products, up 8% from the same period last year.

Among them, the United States

9 billion 550 million US dollars, an increase of 6.2% over the previous year, and export textiles of US $4 billion 70 million, an increase of 13.7% over the same period last year.

In the main export commodities, the export of knitted and woven garments was 3 billion 640 million US dollars and 4 billion 240 million US dollars respectively, up 7.8% and 1.3% compared with the same period last year.

The exports of yarns, fabrics and finished products were 190 million US dollars, 790 million US dollars and 3 billion 90 million US dollars respectively, representing an increase of 7%, 19% and 13% respectively.

In the 1-5 month, the export of industrial textiles to the United States increased significantly, with a total export of US $210 million, an increase of 45% over the same period last year.

The export volume and price of chemical fiber knitted garments rose by 130 million US dollars, up 17.4% from the same period last year, and the unit price increased by 5.6%.

GTT data show that in 1-4 months, the United States imported 35 billion 100 million dollars from the global textile and apparel industry, an increase of 3.7%.

Clothing imports $15 billion 600 million, down 11.5% from the same period last year.

Home textiles, fabrics and yarns were imported at 1 billion 400 million US dollars, 14 billion 100 million US dollars and 890 million US dollars respectively, representing an increase of 13%, 13% and 1.62% respectively.

The United States imported textiles and clothing from China for 12 billion 400 million US dollars, an increase of 6.8%, which is 3.1 percentage points higher than the US global import growth rate.

Export of China's textiles and garments to the EU in 1-5 2012 and the EU's import from China in the first quarter

In 1-5 months, exports to the three largest export markets of textiles and clothing declined only to the EU.

Exports amounted to 16 billion 260 million US dollars, down 11.5%.

Germany dropped 18.1% in several key countries, 13.8% in France, 23% in Italy and 2.1% in Britain.

For the eastward expansion, the total growth rate is 2.9%.

Textile exports to the EU decreased by 4 billion 670 million US dollars, 4.8%; clothing 11 billion 590 million US dollars, down 13.9%.

Textiles

Exports of fabrics and household textiles were $530 million, $1 billion 490 million and $1 billion 30 million, respectively, down by 19.5%, 8% and 1.7% respectively.

The total exports of needles and woven garments in clothing were 2 billion 440 million pieces (sets), 10 billion 60 million dollars, the volume and value decreased by 14.4% and 15% respectively, and the average unit price of exports dropped by 0.7%.

EU textile and apparel imports in 1-3 2012

According to GTT statistics, in the first quarter of 2012, the European Union imported $35 billion 310 million of textile and clothing from the world, down 9%.

Among them, imports from China amounted to 13 billion 690 million US dollars, down 12.3%, a drop more than the EU's average level from global imports.

China accounted for 38.8% of the market share, representing a decrease of 1.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

Over the same period, the EU's imports from other traditional markets also declined. Imports from Bangladesh, Vietnam and Kampuchea continued to grow, especially in Kampuchea, with an increase of 36%.
