Herbert Heiner, chairman of the world's second largest sporting goods manufacturer, Adidas Group Chairman, said in a recent interview with Deutsch agency that the company sees Asia as the biggest growth market in the next few years. By 2010, the group's turnover in Asia will increase from the current 2 billion euros to 3 billion 500 million euros.

Haina said that China is the most important market in Asia. By 2010, Adidas group will achieve 1 billion euros in China.

To this end, the number of Adidas stores and Reebok stores in China will increase to 5000 and 2000 in the next few years.

Haina also said that India is the second largest market in Asia.

In India, Reebok sporting goods account for 50% of the market share, Adidas sporting goods occupy 25% of the market share.

Adidas group will also store 200 Reebok stores in the next few years.

Hainer said that to catch up with Nike, the world's largest sporting goods manufacturer, it is not enough to rely solely on the Asian market, but also to occupy the US market.

To this end, Adidas Group acquired the US Reebok Co at the price of 3 billion 100 million euros in 2006.

Haina said that the merger plan of the two companies is progressing smoothly.

In 2007, Adidas group will invest 50 million euros in Reebok brand.
