On Monday (February 24th), Associated British Foods, a British retail giant, warned that if factories in China delayed the resumption of work, they would face a risk of shortage of apparel lines later this year.

Primark, the clothing brand of Ying Lian food, has 40% of its product resources from China. Ying Lian foods said they had hoarded warehouses before the Spring Festival, which could support for several months, and no impact was expected in the near future.

The group continued to maintain its financial guidelines for fiscal year 2019-20, saying it is working closely with Chinese suppliers to assess the impact of viruses on factories and supply chains as well as their completion of existing orders.

The company said: "if factory production is delayed, the risk of shortage of some production lines will increase later this year." "We are evaluating the corresponding strategies, including the establishment of production in existing suppliers in other regions."

John Bason, its finance director, said pry Mark was negotiating with Bangladesh, Kampuchea, Vietnam, Turkey and Eastern Europe to fill potential vacancies, but he also indicated that some products made in China could not be duplicated.

"For some ornaments and other products, China has done very well, and it is hard to find these resources elsewhere. So I can't guarantee that we can replace all the shortages in China.

Ying Lian's share price fell 2% in early trading today, up 9.5% last year.

The famous British clothing brand Next and Martha (Marks & Spencer) share prices also fell by 2.5% and 3.8% respectively.
